In today's economic globalization, the development of international trade is progressing, and trade has become an important way for countries to rely on each other and connect with each other.Afer the reform and opening up,China's foreign trade has had a rapid development.China's imports and exports of goods in 2017 totaled 27.79 trillion yuan, once again becoming the world's largest trading country in goods.Political, economic, geographical, institutional and cultural factors gradually show their important influence on international trade. At the same time,China's commodity trade structure is also changing. Therefore, this paper takes the institutional distance as the entry point to study the impact of institutional distance on China's classified commodity trade,so as to put forward targeted suggestions for the transformation of China's trade structure. The main purposes of this paper are as follows :(1)to study the effect of institutional distance on China's total merchandise trade;(2)to study the effect of institutional distance on China's trade in primary and manufactured goods. The research idea of this paper is as follows: firstly, through the analysis of current situation and theoretical mechanism, the data and theoretical support of system distance for China's commodity trade are obtained, and then the empirical test is conducted. This paper selects the relevant trade data of 26 countries with large bilateral trade volume and complete classified commodity data from 2008 to 2017.Based on the revised trade gravity model, the panel random model is adopted for regression analysis.Regression analysis mainly includes three parts: the analysis of the impact of institutional distance on China's total merchandise trade, and on China's trade in primary and finished goodsThe main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The effect of institutional distance on China's total merchandise trade is to inhibit;(2)Institutional distance has an obvious inhibitory effect on China's primary goods trade, but an insignificant inhibitory effect on China's manufactured goods trade.
