In the era of knowledge economy, the level of product innovation influences enterprise’s competitiveness and market performance, external knowledge and resources plays an important role in the process of enterprise product innovation, as enterprise’s important external resources, the role of user is becoming more and more important in the process of product innovation.In this paper, we regard users’ participation in product innovation as research background. Based on the theory of motivation and users’participation, we build the theory model of user motivation, users’participation in product innovation and product innovation performance and put forward theoretical hypotheses. We carry on the questionnaire survey of enterprises which located in Beijing Zhongguancun science park, which are mainly from Internet, electronic products, software and so on. We conduct the statistical analysis and verify the theory model and hypotheses.The results of this paper show that material incentive has positive influence on users’providing information and users’ joint innovation. Spiritual incentive has positive influence on user’s providing information, user’s joint innovation and user’s independent innovation. User’s providing information has positive influence on product innovation performance.
