Commercial bank has been dominating the financial market for decades. Hence the management of commercial banks plays a significant role in the development of commercial bank itself and in the sustainability of Chinese future financial industry. To bridge the gap among commercial banks, the management efficiency of Chinese commercial banks was largely examined and evaluated. Thus, commercial banks could purposely upgrade its management efficiency and enhance itself, which might in turn raise up the comprehensive competitive power of Chinese commercial banks in all aspects.This dissertation was written on the basis of literature review on banking management efficiency in both domestic and foreign articles. In order to make up the flaw in these articles, this essay chose to study the management efficiency and its attributors of 16 listed commercial banks during seven years ranging from 2007 to 2013. Initially, the Data Envelopment Analysis was employed to study the static state of the technique efficiency,pure technique efficiency and scaling efficiency of the above commercial banks. Then the above factors and total factor productivity of commercial banks will be assessed with the index of Malmquist to test the dynamic state of the studying commercial banks. Moreover,to build up an efficient DEA-Tobit model, five main factors attributing to the performance of commercial banks were selected, including the scale of banking, profiting capability,asset portfolio management, the degree of stability and the quality of asset. Finally, on the ground of empirical analysis, the author draws a studying conclusion and proposes political advice on the enhancement of Chinese commercial banking efficiency and then give out a reasonable prospect of this study.
