Henan Lotus Flower Gourmet Powder Co., Ltd(LFC) has been being one of primary competitors in the industry since its establishment in 1983. While the condiment industry is welcoming its booming growth in recent years, what kind of competitive strategy is suitable for LFC to survive in stiff competition and even obtain prosperous development is becoming a critical issue.The thesis referred to the theories and the opinions regarding researches on competitive strategy, used the PEST Analysis, Five Forces Mode, SWOT Analysis and Value Chain Model, researched on documents, data and cases, executed survey and investigation to make a comprehensive study on the influence from external environment on gourmet powder industry, competition situation of the industry, and strategic groups and rivals within the industry, and thereby argues LFC’s strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities and threats that it is facing.Based on the study above, the thesis eventually arrives at the conclusion that focusing itself on high-profit businesses and target markets is the most feasible competitive strategy for LFC in recent future years. And also, the thesis suggests that LFC adequately develop its advantages on production, patents, brand awareness and sales network to enhance the possibility of success of its competitive strategy.
