Research On Design Management Of Anhui Electric Power Design Institute Based On Engineering Company Models

In 2011, the fifth electric power system was carried out. Promoted by the main-supplement separating project reform of power grid, China’s electric power survey and design enterprises are mainly incorporated into China Energy Engineering Group Co. Ltd. (CEEC) and China Electric Power Construction Group Co. Ltd. it has been an inevitable tendency of the economic and social development that the electric power survey and design enterprises transform to engineering companies. There have been many successful cases both at home and abroad that the survey and design enterprises transform to engineering companies, while failure also exists. Under the guidance of the corporation strategy of "establishing the international first-class engineering company", the transformation of China’s electric power survey and design enterprises to engineering companies has been developing in a full swing.Based on the engineering company and design management theory, combining the current situation of the electric power design enterprises as well as using the successsful reform experience of the domestic and overseas design enterprises in other industries for reference, this thesis analyzes the current situation of the design management and its problems in the transformation process of Anhui Electric Power Design Institue(AHEDI) to engineering compny. Then, according to the author’s working practices, this thesis discusses the measures adopted by AHEDI to cope with the transformation and upgrading from five aspects, namely, renewing ideas, reforming production and management modes, optimizing project design management modes, establishing the machanism of introducing talents and stimulating innovation as well as enhancing the complementary advantages, carrying out alliance between gaints. Finally, by means of studying such specific cases as a consulting project and a EPC project this thesis proves that the research results used in those specific cases are positive to improve the design management level and the owner’s satisfaction.In addition, certain guiding significance has been made for the reform of design management modes in the transformation process of AHEDI to the engineering company, providing some reference for the engineering company reform of other electric power design enterprises.
