Research On The Social Responsibility Performance And Financial Performance Of Power Listed Companies In China

As a for-profit organization,enterprises is in the pursuit of profit since its birth. But with the development of commodity economy, changes in the social environment and the increasing consumer level, enterprises can not simply pursue its financial performance. As an important part of the social economy, they must face up to the impact on the surrounding environment because of their development, which is the corporate social responsibility to bear. In China, rapid economic development means the heavy expense of the environment. The power companies are the backbone of the national economy which have significant impacts on social responsibility. With the deep theoretical and empirical research, the correlation of the corporate social responsibility and the corporate financial performance is becoming an important part of corporate social responsibility accounting research.The main contents are as follows which are on the basis of the related theories of the social responsibility and the financial performance.Firstly, the domestic and foreign research status about the social responsibility and financial performance is stated;then the theoretical framework of social responsibility, and the financial performance measure are introduced.Secondly, the current social responsibility fulfillment situation of the listed companies on power generation and their current financial performance are specifically analyzed. Through the summarisation and the scores on their social responsibility report we can reveal the subsistent problems; statistical financial indicators in recent years of data are processed in order to analyze their overall financial situation.Finally, do empirical research on the relationship of the social responsibility and financial performance of the listed companies on power generation : establish the index system, select a sample and build models to process descriptive statistical analysis, as well as the correlation and regression analysis. The results show that in a short term the good corporate social responsibility fulfillment cannot bring the improvement of the financial performance, but for a long term, social responsibility fulfillment will play a significant positive role to the financial performance.
