However, due to long term closed and planed economy, foreign manufacturers were not familiar with Chinese politics, economy, and culture, and would not go into Chinese market without doing any analysis in the first place. Then the agent came into play right at the time. These agents were born in China, and knew well about the politics and market, the market information they got could help the foreign manufacturers.At the beginning of opening-up, products in market were limited, and the production ability could not satisfy customers’ demand either. For industry development, the first thing must be done is to change the machine tools level. China’s machine tools technology was far behind the European, America and Japan, importing the machine tools from these countries would not only increase the production in our market, but also would help to update our manufacture technology. Machine tools agents saw the opportunity and took it and gained well development.Agents for Japanese machine tools, as one of the agent army, have been growing fast and become bigger than before with increasing sale of the products in China. Nonetheless, due to the development of right-wing politicians in Japan in recent years, Japanese politico, so called “Diaoyu Island nationalâ€, pushed Chinese people’s patriotism to a record high, demonstrations could be seen in many Chinese cities and many Chinese companies joined in the campaign to boycott Japanese products. Under the circumstance, Japanese manufacturers paid more attention on Chinese market, and began to set up offices, companies in China and developed their own sale chancels. The agents are facing the pressure from manufacturers and users. How to make development and make more profit between them have become the agent’s key concerns.This paper distinguishes the advantageous and disadvantageous factors affecting the a development of the agents, then by using SWOT framework to show the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats of agents, at last develops the strategies for agents development. |
