| Chinese oil companies have been investing more and more in Latin America in recent years and as a result, it has become a priority subject in front of the oil companies about how to avoid the risks of investing and cooperating in Latin America, how to control risks effectively, and how to promote a healthy development in investing in Latin America.This thesis not only provides a theoretical reflection for Chinese oil companies on risk management in out-going process, but also offers an important practical significance in risk identification and management of Chinese oil companies investing in Latin America. First of all, this thesis gives out a overview on investment in Latin America and an analysis on relevant risks, such as political risks, economic risks, legal risks, social risks and security risks. Moreover, through case studies the thesis discuss the practices in risk control of oil companies such as CNPC, SINOPEC, CONNC and SINOCHEM GROUP. Further more, the thesis summarizes the problems and shortcomings in risk management of Chinese oil companies investing in Latin America. Risk control support mechanism is not perfect, the risk of digestion policies are not in place, the risk management needs to be improved, and the international oil industry is in talent scarcity. Last but not least, based on the problems and shortcomings above, the thesis provides improvement on risk management, including the establishment of risk monitoring mechanism, a reasonable as geographic selection, enhancing oil enterprises risk management capabilities, forming information dialogue and dispute coordination mechanism, promoting oil business powerful combination and training international talents. |
