As an innovative IT, cloud computing has great potential to help enterprises to respond business requirement quickly, optimize the cost structure, and innovate business model. However, potential of cloud computing finally realized is depend on the behaviours of cloud computing adoption and usage in enterprise. Therefore, researching on the process of cloud computing adoption, assimilation, diffusion and analysing the factors effecting cloud computing adoption behavior has theoretical significance and practical value..Based on the process of cloud computing adoption, assimilation, diffusion, the paper builds a model to research the factors effecting cloud computing adoption first, and then builds a model to research the effect of environment pressure to cloud computing assimilation. Finally, uses system dynamics model to simulate the adoption and diffusion process of cloud computing in the organization and industry. Specifically, the main research content is as follows:(1) Research on the determinants of cloud computing adoption based on TOE Framework. The paper analyses the factors which effect cloud computing adoption from the context of technology, organization and environment, builds a concept model of cloud computing adoption, and examines the model by structural equation model. Survey data from the 547 firms of china show that: compatibility and triability of cloud computing, technology readiness and top management support of firms positively affect cloud computing adoption intention and government policy has negative impact on cloud computing adoption intention. Furthermore, the factors affecting manufacturing and service sector to adopt cloud computing are different and the factors affecting different size firm to adopt cloud computing are different.(2) Research on cloud computing assimilation under environment pressures. Based on institutional theory, this paper examines the links among institutional pressures, government policy, top management support and assimilation of cloud computing. Survey data from the 376 firms of China show that: Mimetic pressures positively affect top management support, which then positively affects top management support the assimilation of cloud computing, and have direct significant impact on cloud computing assimilation; Coercive pressures does not have direct or indirect significant impact on cloud computing assimilation; Normative pressures and government policy have direct positively affect cloud computing assimilation without the mediation of top management support, and does not have direct significant impact on top management support.(3) Using system dynamics to understand cloud computing adoption and diffusion. To understanding the complex and dynamic of cloud computing diffusion and adoption, the factors which impact on cloud computing adoption are analyzed based on TOE theory, and system dynamics approach is used to build a model of cloud computing diffusion in industry and adoption in organization. After validation, simulation is conducted under the condition of different industry readiness, organizational readiness, and security satisfaction respectively. The results show that the more industry readiness is, the faster cloud computing diffusion rate is, the more organization readiness and the higher secure satisfaction are, the stronger the intention to adopt cloud computing is.
