Research On Urban Skyscraper Index And Its Relationship With Urban Development Of China

Urbanization level of China is over 50%. The rapid development of cities caused the tension of land resources, so the prices are also rising. The construction of skyscrapers is concerned because it is an important way to relieve the urban population and land use conflicts effectively. So, whether the construction of skyscrapers have anything to promote the urban economy. Whether the construction of skyscrapers is corresponding to the expansion of the urban scale. This is what this paper concerns.First of all, from research background of the skyscrapers, the urban skyscraper index, the relationship between skyscrapers and urban development and the domestic and foreign research situation, the paper points out thay the urban skyscraper index calculation method in existing studies failed to reflect the structure of skyscraper groups in a city. Then the first index in Law of the Primate city and the concentration ratio in Market Concentration Rate Theory are able to reflect the structure characteristics. Therefore, these two indicators and calculation methods are introduced into the skyscraper index system of urban skyscraper index measure.Secondly, on the basis of analyzing the current situation of the development of China’s urban skyscrapers, the paper tries to design a new measure method, which is different from the existing urban skyscraper index algorithm. The method is based on the size and structure of the urban skyscrapers groups to measure the city skyscraper index, introducing the first index and the concentration ratio into the skyscraper index system, using factor analysis. Then the paper analyses the validity of the result of city skyscraper index by using self-consistent rate and discrimination.Again, according to the definition of a skyscraper, selects 34 cities as samples. Then make use of skyscraper index and related data of 34 major Chinese cities to explore the effects of urban skyscraper index on urban economy and urban scale and industrial structure influence on tuban skyscraper index by multiple regression analysis. The results showed that: the existence of urban skyscrapers has a significant positive impact on urban economic development; Urban scale and industrial structure have significant positive influence to the development of urban skyscrapers.Finally, based on the results of the multiple regression analysis and current situation and existing problems of Chinese skyscrapers, the paper puts forward reasonable countermeasures and suggestions from national level and individual city level to build skyscrapers.
