SCP And SWOT Analysis Of The Green Chinese Onion Industry In The City Of Zhangqiu

The city of Zhangqiu has a reputation of the hometown of green Chinese onion. Over the years, the city has committed to improving its green Chinese onion industry and it had achieved good effects. But now the problems which restrict the green Chinese onion become more and more prominent. For example, with the development of the society, the requirement for the quality of agricultural products has become higher and higher, but the quality of our green Chinese onion is low. Therefore, based on the present situation, SCP and SWOT are used to analyze the green Chinese onion industry in the city of Zhangqiu and several ideas are put forward.Firstly, the structure-conduct-performance paradigm of industrial organization theory is used to analyze market structure, market behavior and market performance of green Chinese onion industry in the city of Zhangqiu. Market structure analysis is made on the degree of market concentration, produced differences and barriers to entry and exit of Zhangqiu green Chinese onion industry and the results show that it is a monopolistic competition market. Then market conduct of Zhangqiu green onion industry is discussed from three aspects which are the price conduct, non-price conduct and the integration conduct. On this basis, next part starts with discussion of profit rate, market distribution efficiency, driving power to elated industry and increasing farmer income.Secondly, SWOT theory is used to analyze the advantages and disadvantages, the opportunities and challenges of green Chinese industry in the city of Zhangqiu. And the results show that the natural environment and traffic condition is superior,Planting green Chinese onion has experienced a long history,organic leeks in Zhangqiu has a wide prospect of market, but agricultural Leading enterprises are less, the degree of industrialization is low and the brand effect is not significant. In addition, the broad market of organic green Chinese onion and the government’s good policy and so on provide good opportunities for the development of the green Chinese onion industry in Zhangqiu. But the more and stricter product inspection standards and the decrease of rural labor force bring challenge to Zhangqiu’s green Chinese onion industry.At the end, four policy suggestions are put forward to promote the sustainable development of green Chinese onion industry in Zhangqiu. Firstly, speed up the integration of the green Chinese onion industry. Secondly, develop the organic green Chinese onion and strengthen the marketing. Thirdly, enhance the quality and competitiveness of the green Chinese onion. Finally, strengthen the guidance, regulation and service of the government to the green Chinese onion industry.
