In recent years, domestic and international frequent exposures of perks of media make perks become a hot topic in academia. In China, the perks phenomenon has been too long and deep-rooted; the current academic study of executive pay is still mainly confined to monetary remuneration and share incentive. As an important part of executive compensation, perks studies have lagged far behind practice development needs. Therefore, the strengthening of the perks research has important practical and theoretical value. Based on existing research, this paper constructed regression models of perks and executive compensation variables and tested the relationship between perks and executive pay performance sensitivity.Information dissemination functions of the media have greatly improved the information asymmetry between shareholders and executives. As the media guide and oversight functions, corporate governance of media also gradually becomes apparent. Rule-based media theory, the paper analyzes the influence of media attention on the relationship between perks and executive compensation performance sensitivity further.From the perspective of executive compensation performance sensitivity, this paper discussed the relationship between media attention, perks and executive compensation performance sensitivity. This paper firstly summarized the human capital theory, salary contract theory, principal-agent theory, media governance and media bias theories etc. Then it sorted out the relevant research literature, to understand the influential factors of executive compensation performance sensitivity, the relationship of media attention, perks and executive compensation, and the influence of media attention on corporate governance.Secondly, on the basis of previous studies, this paper proposed the reasonable hypothesis of the impact on executive compensation sensitivity performance of these factors like business fundamentals, governance structure factors, performance factors, media attention, the nature of property, then selected variables and relevant statistical data based on hypothesis. At last it built a regressive model about the relationship between media attention, perks and executive compensation performance sensitivity.After descriptive statistical analysis, comparative analysis and regression analysis, it revealed the relationship between perks and executive compensation performance sensitivity, the impact of media attention on the relationship, and the impact of the nature of property. This article draws empirical conclusions finally and based on which it proposed targeted recommendations on the China’s media development and the pay reform.This paper is divided into five parts. The introduction is the first part, which Includes current social phenomenon executive pay and performance do not match, serving consumer research status monitor developments in the media, in the background of this research This paper proposes to solve the problem, the research significance, research ideas and drafting the proposed framework adopted.The second part is the literature review and commentary. In this part of the executive compensation and performance sensitivity of the literature review; Secondly, the perks and executive pay performance sensitivity literature review; and finally, the media oversight of executive pay perks and performance sensitivity of the relationship between the conduction corporate governance review, the theoretical basis for the empirical examination of the text.The third part is theoretical analysis and assumptions.In this part of the job consumption and media monitoring related theories analysis, and based on this angle to executive pay performance sensitivity analysis of hypotheses.The fourth part of media attention, and executive compensation empirical research results next property emotional relationships. Combined with the second part of executive compensation on the basis of a literature review on the theory of decision factors to regulate research and empirical research methods This paper attempts to study the proposed model, the use of EXCEL software STATA12 and empirical test.Part V includes the conclusion, policy and recommendations. On the basis of empirical research, the empirical conclusions were analyzed, make policy recommendations based on the analysis and indicate the point of this innovation possible and shortcomings.
