Study On Urban-rural Integration Development In Guanzhong District

Guanzhong District is located at the central region of Shanxi, which is along the Weihe River and Longhai Railway. It is an area crowed with cities and towns and currently it has formed a industrial zone and urban agglomeration with the central place of Xi’an, good infrastructure and strong economic strength. Based on the current situation, Guanzhong District has obvious advantages over other regions as the core region that leads the economic development of Shanxi; however, the urban-rural integration development is slow and unbalanced urban-rural phenomenon within the region still exists. Guanzhong District is the important goods and materials distributing centre of Shanxi, the joint part for economic and technological communication and cooperation in Eastern Areas and the strategic highland of economic and social development in Shanxi. The integrated industrial system and intensive population resources have founded excellent basis for urban-rural integration, the agglomeration and diffusion effect of City and Town Concentration has provided realistic support for urban-rural integration, thus Guanzhong District is equipped with advantages to take the lead in carrying out the urban-rural integration undertakings. The previous studies and researches almost fused on the urban-rural integration within administrative regions, while ignoring the study of urban-rural integration within cross-administrative regions from the regional economy and social development and they didn’t connect the cross-administrative regional study with the construction of urbanization and new socialist countryside. In fact, the regional agglomeration and diffusion effect has crossed the restriction of administrative regions. Therefore, this essay considers that the realization of urban-rural integration in Guanzhong District will effectively reinforce the construction of urbanization and new socialist countryside.
