The phenomenon of nostalgia exists in the tourist world and life world ubiquitously. With the rapid development of science and technology, we are suffering from the ever-changing, which enables us to confront with a number of uncertain factors. The best manner for us to express the nostalgic affect for the past is to yearn for yesterday. Constantly, we are obsessed with the village and intimate friends in our childhood and past events in the sweet dream. Nostalgic tourism, whether as tourist motivation or a type of tourism, deserves the practical and theoretical exploration.The author selected nostalgic tourism as the topic and nostalgic tourists as the research object, classified and summarized the related literature and study nostalgic tourism phenomenon from the perspective of sense of place. Firstly, the research literature on nostalgia has been reviewed completely. The article reviewed the research process of nostalgia, for instance, the linguistic structure of nostalgia, the pathological interpretation of nostalgia, and affective understanding of nostalgia as yearning for yesterday. Next, the definition of nostalgic tourism is put forward based on the concept and triggers of nostalgia and its features etc. Nostalgic tourism is a sort of tourist behavior through which the tourist with nostalgic proneness can satisfy their nostalgia needs. The categories of nostalgic tourism are formed on the ground of the relationship between human and place, i.e. inexperienced nostalgic tourism and experienced nostalgic tourism. Experienced nostalgic tourism refers to the tourist behavior that tourist go to the tourism destination which, to some extent, the tourist is related to and vice versa.Furthermore, with the help of internet survey platform, the questionnaire survey on nostalgic tourists was conducted through the perspective of sense of place. Verification of sense of place dimension differences of various types of tourists was conducted through SPSS22.0. Nostalgic tourism research questionnaire is mainly composed of place measuring scale of nostalgic tourists, sociodemographic characteristics and the basic characteristics of nostalgic tourists. Through descriptive statistical analysis and the mean comparison method, the corresponding conclusions have been drawn, the nostalgic tourists from different population have a certain degree of homogeneity and the homogeneity means that nostalgic tourism object and affect are in consistency of the category, these specific categories are bonds of sense of place between tourists and tourist destination. In addition, through quantitative research process, the author summarizes several basic characteristics of nostalgic tourism:positive affection dominant, strong sense of place and nostalgic proneness, privacy features of nostalgia tourism and overall homogeneity of nostalgic tourism.Through quantitative research, it is not difficult to find different nostalgic tourists’nostalgic proneness, sense of place and affect are at high level. Nostalgic tourism destination exists bonds of sense of place and they has the same characteristics for tourists. The bonds of sense of place, here refers to the nostalgic object and the content in the tourist destination which can make the tourists have nostalgic affect and behaviors. The author carefully screens and selects 20 real nostalgic tourism travel notes as qualitative study martials in domestic tourism BBS, i.e. Tianya BBS, watercress tour group, travel of mill and other travel guide part from OTA through keyword search. Through content analysis method, analysis of nostalgic tourists travel notes are performed and selective coding is done and the following are the corresponding conclusions:there are three nostalgia categories include in link of sense of place between nostalgic tourism destinations and tourists, i.e. the nostalgic taste which ordinary tourists cannot realize; nostalgic memories which the nostalgic tourists in destination can evoke; the "true self which the nostalgic tourists in the tourist are looking for. The above three categories compose of the old and familiar scene and other concrete object of nostalgia. Specifically, for nostalgic taste, the author found it is difficult to identify, vulnerable to environmental impact, and people, things, things are correlated; for nostalgic memories, it is nostalgic tourists’long-term memory of specific events concrete event related. Nostalgic tourists look for the true self, nostalgic tourists look for continuous, full of life and search for the inner self. The above three categories, characterizes nostalgic tourist experience.
