Research On Quality Management Of A Company’s Sub System R&D Outsourcing

As the rapid growth of global economy and development of science and technology, companies are facing the market demand continues to change rapidly. They can only maintain and continuously improve their core competitiveness, while taking advantage of collaboration within the global resources to respond quickly to market demand, thereby maintaining their leadership in the industry. Outsourcing has become one of the popular collaboration modes among the companies. R & D outsourcing is regarded as a high-end and high-efficiency Outsourcing mode among them.A company is a network equipment and solutions provider, the company has advanced technology and excellent quality to win market acceptance. A company invests heavily in new product development annually, and power modules in the hardware system is developed through R & D outsourcing. As key components of network equipment hardware, power modules’quality has been A company’s long-term concern and a lot of resources focus on its management. Traceability and quality problems in recent years show a growing trend that the quality issues point to design issue itself.Through in-depth study of the quality status and quality management status of A company A’s power module outsourcing, this article analyzes A company’s existing power supply module outsourcing-related quality management system deficiencies, proposes solutions for power modules R & D outsourcing quality management system improvement. Besides A company’s current power supply products quality management system, this article extend the research to the suppliers (who develop the power modules) R&D management and A company’s internal NPI project awarding rules, process management, so as to solve A company’s current power supply module major quality problems in its research and design direction. This article proposes quality management improvement for A company R & D outsourcing in the following recommendations:(1) Regular audits of existing power suppliers’design centers’capabilities and multi-level hierarchical management.(2) Quality management in each NPI project power supply outsourcing process, including the scorecard for award decision-making processes and the closed-loop management system among all stakeholders.This article proposes the management system for improving and supplementing A company’s existing power module R&D outsourcing quality management. It will have long-term impact on A company’s outsourced power modules toward the positive way. At the mean time, it also provides reference and inspiration for other companies’R&D outsourcing quality management especially in the electronics industry.
