Classification And Evaluation Of Ecotourism Resources In Nature Reserves

This paper, taking Beijing Baihua Mountain Nature Reserve (BBMNR) as an example, analyzed the composition and classification of the ecotourism resources here, and summarized a classification system of ecotourism resources. The quality and attraction evaluation system was built through analysis of hierarchy process (AHP). The quality and attraction of ecotourism resources was evaluated by expert consultation, field survey and online questionnaire. Combining contingent valuation method(CVM) and data from questionnaires, we obtained the paying willingness for use and non-use value of ecotourism resources. The monetary value of ecotourism resources was estimated and conclusions are as follows.1.The ecotourism resources of BBMNR can be divided into two categories, i.e. biodiversity and ecological landscape. Based on these two major categories, there were 6 main classes and 18 basic types. The 6 main classes consist of environmental resources, plants, vegetation landscapes, animals, habitat for animals and macro-fungi.2.The quality evaluation system of ecotourism resources in BBMNR was established and the weights of quality evaluation were obtained through expert marking and AHP. The ecotourism resources in BBMNR got a score of 76.75, belonging to Grade I, indicating the relatively high ecotourism value of this area in all protected areas of Beijing.3.The attraction evaluation system of ecotourism resources in BBMNR was established and the weights were obtained through online tourists survey questionnaires and AHP. The attraction capability of ecotourism resources in BBMNR got a score of 86.965, belonging to Grade I.4.In analysis of the willingness to pay, tourists willing to pay a certain amount of money for the sustainable existence of ecotourism resources occupied 78.54% and 79.55% of on-site and online survey respectively. Most survey participants chose the options of 50,100, or 200 RMB and 50 or 100 RMB in on-site and online survey, respectively.5.The minimum, maximum and total average payment willingness of use value of ecotourism resources in BBMNR were 122.989,394.253 and 258.621 RMB and the average payment willingness of non-use value was 239.017 RMB. The whole economic value of ecotourism resources was between 18.34 and 23.85 million RMB.
