Research On The Establishment Of Zhengzhou Textile Industry Base

From 1953 to 1957, China carried out the first five-year plan and development of the national economy has been growing quickly and stably. Zhengzhou began to establish its textile industry base, which relay on its unique transportation advantage and abundant supply of raw materials. Therefore Zhengzhou NO.1 Cotton Mill just has been born at the right time. Most equipment imported from other provinces, but only a few of them made by Zhengzhou Textile Accessories Factory at the beginning of its establishment. Zhengzhou NO.1 Cotton Mill was constantly developing new technologies and tried to diversify their products. Zhengzhou NO.1 Cotton Mill used the system of overall responsibility by factor director that under the leadership of the party committee, meanwhile they adopted a democratic management system which also called the system of worker and administrative staff congress. Under the leadership of the party committee of factory, the mill assured they could complete production planning and other tasks, which based on the principle of the system of democratic centralism and coordinated internal relationships. In the planning economy era, both Zhengzhou NO.1 Cotton Mill and other textile factories developed quickly for the reasons like the national monopoly policy for cotton purchasing and marketing and highly centralized investment system. The establishment of Zhengzhou textile industry base helped a lot on accumulating funds that used on developing city,and it also highlighted the characteristics of Zhengzhou. For this reason, Zhengzhou gradually became a light industry city mainly by textile industry. In addition, great changes take placed on the aspects like the consumption level and structure of citizens.Enterprise is a microcosm of the social environment, thus it could reflect the social condition of that time by development of an enterprise. Hence, the research on Zhengzhou NO.1 Cotton Mill and the historical contribution of Zhengzhou textile industry base has some reference meaning for modern textile enterprise.
