In the wake of globalisation, the barriers relating to doing business between countries have been dramatically lifted. Businesses become much closer to each other worldwide. Textiles, particularly, are one of the main sectors that runs world of business. It has played a pivotal role in the world’s exchange as well as in changing business landscape in many ways. However, textiles business, itself, has been affected vastly by many factors e.g., one that is associated with national or international policies. Especially, policy that frees the flow of textile products being exchanged between country, a good example is that countries gradually increases or even lifts the allowed quantities of textile products being traded among them, which we call-"Quota". This liberalizes a flow of the product and advances the volume which it has been manufactured. To be on top of the trade of textile, many countries have tried their utmost to undertake policies to make them one of the top manufacturers. Clearly, the common policy mostly implemented by contries’ governments is lifting the "Quota", all of which is to increase their competitiveness when compared to other countries. As a result, textile seems to be one of the businesses that have enjoyed such policies. Nevertheless, freeing the flow of textile products does not only produce a healthy outcome such as increased competitiveness but it has also increased the degree of competitions among manufacturers. In the beginning of the 1990, Thailand was one of the leading world’s textile manufacturers. The reason behind this is that the country has had a unique and suitable geographic and weather. It also earned plenty of textile market share. Counsequntly, it was able to bring in relatively high amount of international cash via export, which in turn leads to a healthy economy. Not to mention, textile generally required the intense degree of local labour hence stirring a healthy local job market. This phenomenal fundamentally helped and supported Thailand’s economy. As a result of this, Thai government, at that time, considered textile as "one of the prime business engines".However, those days have gone to an end. Today’s environments have become far more complex. Thai textile manufacturers have suffered from many changes. For example, the market itself has become saturated and shrunk. The manufacturing capability has been limited and down. Moreover, there has also been the shortage of supporting fund. All of the mentioned factors has adversely affected and hindered the advancement of textile business. Taking all into account, this research will be about Thailand’s textile export and aimmed at increasing competitiveness of Thai textile manufacturers for exporting. Moreover, this paper will also yield both theoretical and practical advices for those who are interested in the context. Last but not the least, it is best to aware that most of the today’s papers relating to textile are only focusing on problems that are mentioned above. Therefore, in a bid to go beyond what those papaers has set before, this research will try to present to readers both theories as well as practices that can be useful in the real business environment.
