The Research On Travel Industry Development Of Resource-based City Linfen In Economic Transformation

Resource-based cities contribute a great deal to China’s rapid economic development, but because of the long-term extensive development and utilization of the resources, there are an increasing number of cities where the resources have been exhausted and economic development is hindered. Thus the sustainability of the economic and social development of resource-based cities are threatened. The economic transformation is urgent.Linfen is one of China’s three main high-quality coking coal producing sources, With long-term uncontrolled coal resources, extensive mining,facing a "mine declining" development difficulties, economic transformation imperative.Known as the "sunrise industry", tourism played a role in promoting economic restructuring and development in many resource-based cities, thanks to the fact that tourism helps the development of many other industries, in line with the requirements of sustainable development. Tourism has become one of the preferred paths to promote resource-based urban economic restructuring and development. Linfen boasts of magnificent natural scenery, rich historical and cultural heritage, and high-quality tourism resources. In recent years,the development of tourism industry has made a great progress. Therefore, how to speed up Linfen‘s tourist industry development,promote resource-based urban economic restructuring, has important practical significance to economic restructuring and development of Linfen resource-based cities.This paper mainly uses literature analysis, qualitative analysis and experiential summary method. After discussion on the tourism industry’s leading effects on the resource-based city of Linfen and development present situation and main existing problems, this paper puts forward development countermeasures for tourism industry of Linfen, considering the advantageous condition of the city.This paper is divided into seven parts. The first part is the introduction. The second part provides a solid theoretical support for this thesis, introducing the industrial structure evolving theory, regional flat-share theory and the theory of sustainable development, etc. On the discussion of the current situation for the development of the resource-based city of Linfen, the third part discourses the necessity of Linfen resource-based economy development. Starting from the problems listing before, the fourth part mainly discusses the effects of tourism industry on promotingresource-based economic transformation and development such as optimizing the industrial structure, increasing employment opportunities and improving the ecological environment. The fifth part analyzes the advantage of Linfen on developing tourism industry from five dimensions including geographic location, transportation, history and culture, tourism resources. Then we discussed the key problems in Linfen’s tourism industry which includes tourism product homogeneity, lack of tourism and cultural connotation, weak tourism brand advantage in the sixth part.In the end, we propose six feasible countermeasures for the development of tourism industry in Linfen in the last part.
