With the internationalization and globalization of finance, advances of technology and the rapid development of financial markets, financial innovations change rapidly, the financial competition is becoming increasingly. Thereby financial risk have significantly increased, the financial risks occured one after another. Countries around the world strengthen the risk supervision of heir own banking to enhance the stability and healthy development of the banking sector and the financial system. During developing of China’s banking industry and the deepening of open up of the financial sector, bank risk will be more complex and difficult to monitor. As a historic country in risk regulation, the United States continuously accumulated a lot of practical experience in the process of bank’s risk regulatory, and formated a relatively mature risk regulatory system. China should learn from US’s successful experience in risk supervision, and absorb its failures in the process of risk management. Thereby we can form a risk supervision on commercial bank with Chinese characteristics.This paper firstly expounded the risk management concepts of commercial bank and development path of the risk management theory; secondly on this basis, we separately analyzed status of commercial bank risk supervision of China and US, and the implementation of the two countries for the third edition of Basel; and conduct a comparative analysis of two countries’ risk regulatory in course of bank risk supervision,banking risk supervision system and the method of measuring venture capital of banks, and draw contrasted conclusions; Finally, put forward some suggestions on improving risk supervision of China’s commercial banks on the basis of comparative analysis.
