On The Driving Effect Of Export Trade To China’s Economic Growth

Since China’s reform and opening, especially after the accession to WTO, the export trade is developing rapidly, the volumes of export and the proportion of total world exports is increasing. The development of China’s economic is promoted by the development of export trade, which has become one of the most important driving forces of China’s economic growth. Although China suffered a significant decline in exports and export growth in the 2008 financial crisis, since 2013, with the highlight of our foreign trade policy as well as some positive economic stabilization and recovery in the developed countries, China’s foreign trade made a positive progress.From the first quarter of 2011, China’s economic growth rate dropped to 10% and China’s economy is experiencing a stage of "new normal" and "three superimposed". In this case, investigating the role of China’s export trade to economic growth and learn from the experience of international export trade development is conducive and important. Based on this, this paper analyzes the status of China’s export and the dynamic effects of export development in Japan, Korea and Malaysia. It also analyzes the driving effect of China’s export in two phases:after joining the World Trade Organization and after the first quarter of 2011 from a quantitative point of view. And it finds that in the short term, the impact of exports on GDP is not significant, but in long-term the effect is significant and showing growth trend, which indicates that export plays a long-term leading role in GDP growth. Finally, it proposes the solution of export by learning the experience of other countries, combined with China’s actual conditions.
