In this paper, aiming at Xiaofengshuigou coal mine area of Chifeng basin applicates lithofacies paleogeography and the basic principle of coal geology and the research methods.According to 125 borehole data of mine and a large number of geological basis and on the basis of the three types of sedimentary facies which included lacustrine, river and bog in the study area of Shahe and Fuxin city describes in detail the development of the sedimentary facies parts and characteristics by developing vertical sedimentary sequence diagrams, sedimentary profile, sand bodies isopach map and isopach map of coal seam. And combined with China's northeast late Mesozoic fault basin and chifeng basin structure that is sedimentary evolution background and filling patterns reveals environmental evolution process in the study area of Shahe and Fuxin city from lakes to river mainly anastomosing river and from marsh alternating to lakes.In which coal seam from south east to north west becomes thinner and thinner until die and in the form of bifurcation which makes more coal seam of horsetail. Rich coal belt is located in the southeast of the study area from northeast to southwest and in the same direction of the basin long axis. Rivers and swamp facies of alternating constitutes the coal-bearing sedimentary cycle and each of the coal-bearing sedimentary cycle which maked up of fluvial and swamp facies has Vertical characteristics. Anji basin edge fracture of cyclical activity is the main formation factors of basin coal-bearing sedimentary cycle.
