Recurrence is a fundamental property of dynamical systems, which can be exploited to characterise the system's behaviour. The recurrence plot and recurrence quantification analysis are powerful tools to analysis the behavior of dynamical systems, have been paid attention by many scholars. They are applied on earth science, neuroscience, meteorology, etc. The precipitation variability is traditionally considered as an East Asian summer monsoon(EASM)indicator, EASM variability influences the hydrological and environmental of this region directly. The research of precipitation, not only has a significance to understand the climate evolution of typical periods, but also provides scientific basis to know the evolution of natural environment in North China.This paper adopts the method of recurrence plot and recurrence quantification analysis to study the precipitation of Gonghai region deeply, reflects the important periods of EASM behaviors intuitively, analyzes the dynamic behavior of EASM. Firstly, the significance of precipitation, time series and its development, recurrence plot and recurrence quantification analysis are introduced. Secondly, we introduce the method of select parameters in the recurrence analysis. Thirdly, In view of the precipitation data of recurrence analysis, reveals the important periods and evolution law of EASM behaviors. The last part summaries the main contents, the prospective about the recurrence analysis of time series is also discussed.
