| In recent years, the severity of environmental pollution problem has a rapid increase. Nowadays, how to prevent and deal with environment disaster instantly has become an important research topic. Meanwhile, with the development of GIS, it becomes possible for people to analyze and resolve the environmental problems from the macro point of view. Using GIS, especially three-dimensional GIS, to complete the environmental visualization has become an indispensable search direction. The environmental models and environmental information systems established by GIS can be used to forecast and analyze environmental changes and trends, and to provide decision-making basis for the environmental protection through statistical analysis and simulation study.In this paper, we establish a system for the visualization of environmental information. This system is mainly constructed by two stages. They are the data processing stage and environmental data visualization stage. The data processing includes three parts: geographic boundary data processing, interpolation of environment data, and data interaction between Data Server and Application Server. In the environmental data visualization stage, the system gets data from data service and implements the visualization, which contains the two-dimensional original data visualization and three-dimensional visualization for interpolated data.The system is based on DB2, VS2010, ArcGIS Server and Google Earth. Data processing stage is implemented through MFC and all of the data are stored in DB2 which runs on the Data Server. In the environmental data visualization stage, two-dimensional visualization implements through Silverlight platform, while three-dimensional visualization implements through Google Earth API. The map data and environmental attribute data are getting from ArcGIS Server and Data Server, and the web pages used for display are implements by VS2010. |
