The demand of energy is ever-increasing due to the development of economy and society, while traditional energy has the problems of resource shortage, difficulty in mining, environmental pollution and greenhouse effects. All these factors prompt people to explore and develop renewable energy continuously. Wave energy is a kind of inexhaustible clean energy. Domestic and foreign research institutions as well as new energy enterprises have invested substantial resources in its development and utilization. Most studies of wave energy harvesting technology use the way of multistage energy conversions, which loss a lot in the intermediate energy conversion processes. Aiming at some existing problems, this paper proposes a multiple floating body direct driven ocean wave energy harvesting device.Based on the linear wave theory, a typical ocean wave model was established. The structure of the wave energy harvester is designed and the system dynamics model of the multiple floating body structure is set up. The optimum damping is obtained by optimization. Electromagnetic simulation is carried out using COMSOL software for three magnetization modes axial, radial and Halbach magnetization respectively. By analysis and comparison, the axial magnetization is chosen. Theory analysis and parameter optimization is down for the energy transferring structure of the multibody system with axial magnetization using MATLAB numerical analysis, and its wave power output characteristics are obtained. After the corresponding Buck-Boost circuit is designed, a scaled model of the wave energy harvester is designed and fabricated, and experiments are carried out for verification.Research results show that the output voltage of the energy converting structure are high enough for the following circuits. At the same time, the output voltage and power under different relative speeds and loads are obtained.
