Abstract/Summary:
In August 3,2014,a 6.5 earthquake occurred in Ludian County,Zhaotong City,Yunnan Province,caused a landslides on the right sides of the Red Rock village near the river bank,forming a dammed lakeand drowned the first pivot of the Red Rock hydropower station on the upper reaches.In this paper,we takeearquake-induced Red Rock Landslide as an example,through the discrete element software PFC to simulate the Red Rock Landslide and discuss the start mechanism,movement process,the range of motion and so on,the main contents and results are:(1)Because the Particle Flow Code(PFC)is weak in the pre-processing of building the landslide model,taken earthquake-induced Red Rock landslide as a example,four steps were presented to build 2D&3D landslide model with PFC.The four steps are obtaining topographic data,determining theboundary of both sliding mass and sliding bed,building the geometry of both sliding mass and sliding bed,filling the geometry with particles.By this way,the 2D and 3D landslide model could be easily and quickly built with PFC.The presented method will be helpful to the simulation of landslide movementwith PFC.(2)The mechanical parameters of rock mass are calibrated by uniaxial compression simulation test in PFC software,Through the single factor variable method to carry out the influence of micro parameters on macro characteristics of materials include elastic modulus,compressive strength and Poisson’s ratio in parallel bond model,The analysis results are easy to obtain the material micro parameters of PFC simulation landslide.(3)Establishing the PFC2 D and PFC3 D models of the Red Rock Landslide,applyed seismic load,then simulating the movement process of the landslide,the movement process and accumulation characteristics of Red Rock Landslideare well inverted,At the same time,we monitor the velocity and displacement of the sliding particles,The maximum movement velocity was monitored at 48.9m/s,indicating that the Red Rock Landslide belongs to high speed rock landslide.Two,three-dimensional simulation shows that the accumulation bodies are similar in shape,the characteristics of the front edge showed layered and the rear edge showed mixed.(4)By contrast to the two and three-dimensional simulation,the duration of two-dimensional is shorterit is 60 seconds,for three-dimensional simulation,the random collision times are more,sothe velocity of particlesare smaller and the accumulation bodies have higher degree of mixed.Although the two-dimensional simulation has the advantage of fast calculation,but the three-dimensional simulation can better reflect the landslide movement path,the range of accumulation,the thickness of accumulation and so on,the effect of simulation is better.
