The movement distances and velocity changes are the important assessment indexes of disaster area and intensity of landslide.Their complex movement mechanisms make the prediction of runout very difficult. This paper is based on results of previous test and study the influence of rock soil mass and ground conditions on characteristics of landslide movement. It established typical landslide database and analyzed main controlling factor of slope movement characteristics through the statistical analysis.Model test of landslide movement was designed in terms of the design theory of orthogonal test,of which 5 influential were considered including grain composition, volume, gradient of slope, friction of underlying surface, moisture content.During the analysis,it is shown that among so many influential factors of the maximum movement distance, the gradient of slope is the most important one.The gradient of slope, friction of underlying surface and volume are critical factors for the maximum movement distance. It is also shown that among so many influential factors of the speed the gradient of slope is the most important one.Among 5 influential factors, only the gradient of slope play an important role of the maximum speed. In the end,the numerical simulation PFC2Dis are used to study the influences of these factors including slope of slide source area, gradient slope, under surface friction coefficient, shapes and coarse-grain contents on the landslide movement and deposition,.The test results may provide a preliminary basis for further studies on landslide movement and deposition characteristics.
