Research On 3D Dynamic Visualization Of Spatio-Temporal Data

As temporal Geographic Information System applications are based on the visualization of spatio-temporal data, the research of this paper focused on the spatio-temporal data's 3D dynamic visualization, which can reflect the information and changing process of the spatio-temporal data vividly by integrating the computer dynamic visualization technology to the temporal GIS.The main contents of this paper included:(1) By researching on existing 3D visualization and dynamic visualization technology pertinently, and analyzing the content, description methods and characteristics of spatio-temporal data, the specific requirements and evaluation index were proposed for the 3D dynamic visualization of spatio-temporal data.(2) The practicable strategies of 3D dynamic visualization of spatio-temporal data were researched and designed(3) For the data preparation, a general-purpose 3D spatio-temporal data model and a spatio-temporal modeling method for multiple data sources were researched and designed.(4) A spatio-temporal filtering was also provided.(5) The methods of spatio-temporal process simulation were researched.(6) Some ways of the speed optimization were researched and practiced.After the research before, the application system of spatio-temporal data's 3D dynamic visualization is researched and developed. Furthermore, by taking tow cases studies as the example, the 3D dynamic visualization and spatio-temporal analysis based on the 3D dynamic visualization were successfully achieved. Finally, a feasible and practicable method of spatio-temporal data'3D dynamic visualization was created.This method of spatio-temporal data'3D dynamic visualization not only has realized the combination of 3D GIS and temporal GIS, but also can be adapted to various spatio-temporal applications with accurate and smooth visualizing results. Moreover, with the spatio-temporal process simulation based on interpolation and particle system, this method can reproduce the developing and changing process of the spatio-temporal data realistically.
