The Study On The Controversy About Spontaneous Generation Of Qrganisms In The Republican Period The Source And Flow Of "Luo Guang-ting Incident"

In the history of science,the controversy about spontaneous generation of organisms experienced over a long and tortuous course.It is vital to explain the formation of the first life on earth,to improve the improvement of health and medical disinfection.And it is playing an important role in analysising of biological evolution and variation.In 1860 s,Pasteur has negated the theory of spontaneous generation in the main.But in 1931,Dr Luo Guangting proposed the invention about spontaneous generation again,and clained to overthrow Pasteur’s microbial theory and Darwin’s theory of evolution,triggered a new controversy,which is called “Luo Guangting incident”.This thesis is based on this event,discusses its consequences,clarify its source and flowgives.Through the evaluation and reflection of history,it also wants to provide historical information about some current scientific hot issues.This thesis consists of four chapters.Chapter 1: background carding.It describes people’s knowledge and controversy about life’s spontaneous generation before the rise of experimental science,the transmission of China about pasteur’s theory of seed and biological evolution before 1931.Chapter 2:the origin of “Luo Guangting incident”.Based on the above background,Luo Guangting published articles to begin “Luo Guangting incident”.It also analyzes the reason about Luo Guangting who is Pasteur’s student opposeed Pasteur’s theory.Chapter 3:course of “Luo Guangting incident”.In time,it untangle the whole process of this incident,from a written argument to an open debate to an experimental verification.Chapter 4: the evaluation and Enlightenment of “Luo Guangting incident”.Based on historical data,it evaluates this incident and explains the reason of the acceptance of Luo Guangting’s theory.It also gains some enlightenments through the research.Through the untangle about the the controversy about spontaneous generation in history,this thesis explains the propagation process of pasteur’s theory of seed and biological evolution in China before 1931.On the basis of the in-depth investigation of the controversy,it comes to conclusion:it is not only a scientific debate,but also factors such as power,politics,society,culture and personal emotions have an important influence.
