Over millions years of evolution,living organisms in order to adapt the changes of environment,have created a colorful natural world.Some color effects are angel-related and not easy fade,called as structure colors,which result from the interaction of light with periodically arranged microstructures of a single biological material.Living organisms will rapidly switch their structural colors in response to their surrounding environments,for camouflage,alert or sending information.Inspired by the tunable property of structure-based color,scientists have fabricated a variety of photonic crystal sensors via physical and chemical means,especially chemical sensors and biological sensors.According to the stimulus-response mechanism of photonic crystal sensors,stimulus-response hydrogel is the preferred material for the characters of swelling or de-swelling reversibly in water,tunable chemical,physical structures,and good mechanical properties.In this work,we demonstrate a supramolecular hydrogel phonic crystal sensor based on the interaction of β-cyclodextrin and t-butyl,the dissociation of the complex will produce a volume expansion,which gives the signal of the concentration of 1-admantanecarboxylic acid sodium salt,and cross-linking agent ensuring the inverse opal.The monodisperse silica colloidal particles were synthesized by St?ber method in different temperature,and the colloidal photonic crystal template was fabricated with the method of vertical convective self-assembly.The inverse opal photonic crystal sensors was fabricated with host molecule,guest molecule and cross-linking agent by radical copolymerization.The introduction of host-guest supramolecular system into responsive PCs will not only enrich the family of responsive PCs,but will also provide a new avenue between the organic molecules and naked-eye readable optical signals.
