Interpolating in 5 dimensions of the seismic data simultaneously can largely recover the missing data by correcting the amplitude and phase variables as the minimum space that completely represent seismic data has five dimensions: inline, crossline, offset, azimuth and time(other parameterizations are also possible,e.g.frequency).This paper applies an approach that uses five dimensional Fourier reconstruction in the inline-crossline-offset-azimuth-frequency domain of the seismic data, with a sparseness constraint on the 5D spectrum. On the base of overviews about present situation, problems and difficulties in the research of seismic data regularization and interpolation, this paper introduces the band limited signal reconstruction principle, the compressed sensing principle, the five dimensional interpolation principle based on the orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm, and applies the five dimensional interpolation method to the actual seismic data of Yang Take region, finally this dimensional interpolation method solves the problem due to the wave field sparsity and the irregularity of the data which are mainly caused by economic factor and surface condition limitation in seismic data acquisition. In the end,the five dimensional interpolation technique is summarized.
