Graphene oxide(GO)and graphene(GE),which have excellent mechanical properties and thermal conductivity,are the excellent choices for the fabrication of elastomer nanocomposites.However,GO and GE are easy to aggregate in rubber matrix,which hindered their reinforcing effect on the rubber.In this work,polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP)was selected as the modifier to improve the exfoliation of GO.Then,the PVP modified GO(PGO)was added to various rubber matrixes,such as natural rubber(NR),carboxy nitrile rubber(XNBR)and styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR),and the mechanical,thermal stability and thermal properties of these rubber nanocomposites were studied in detail.The reasults show that:the addition of PVP could significantly improve the dispersion of GO in various rubber matrixes.In the NR matrix,the tensile strength could up to 26.65 MPa by adding 4 phr PGO,with an increment of 55%as compared to NR vulcanizates.With addition of 5 phr PGO,the tear strength of NR could up to 51.36 kN/m,with an increment of 159%as compared to NR vulcanizates,and an increment of 170%in crosslinking density,26%increment in thermal conductivity of PGO/NR were also achieved.In the XNBR matrix,compared to GO/XNBR composites,the further improvement in tear strength and thermal conductivity of PGO/XNBR were avhieved,with the increment of 54%and 25%,respectively.As for the SBR matrix,with the addition of 3 wt%PGO,the tensile stregth has 493%and 72%increasement as compared to SBR and GO/SBR composites,the thermal conductivity of PGO/SBR was also increased by 29%and 14%,respectively.The PVP modified GE(PGE)with uniform dispersion in water was obtained by the reduction of PGO,and then blended with NR latex to prepare PGE/NR nanocomposites.With the addition of PGE,the mechanical properties,thermal stability and thermal conductivity of NR maintained the upward trend.When the content of PGE up to 3 phr,the tensile strength and tear strength of PGE/NR were incresed by 23%and 146%as compared to NR vulcanizates,The Tmax could increase by 9.8?.In addition,the storage modulus at-70?and 25? as well as the thermal conductivity of PGE/NR nanocomposites had the increment of 59%,313%and 31%,respectively.
