In this paper, developing one rubber conveyor belt cover based on standard of GB/T20021-2005 for canvas core conveyer by Ethylene-propylene Diene monomer (EPDM)/Polyethylene-octene elastome (POE) as the matrix material with good heat aging resistance, long life and low cost was the ultimate goal. By studying on the matching system of the EPDM/POE, including softening system, curing system, filling system and anti-aging system, found out the relationship between kinds and dosages of chelating and performance.The paper respectively used chloroprene rubber(CR) and brominated butyl rubber(BIIR) as softener of EPDM/POE in order to reduce the migration or volatility at high temperature. The results showed that tensile strength and elongation at break of EPDM/POE vulcanizates increased after adding CR. The thermal air aging properties of vulcanizates improved by adding BIIR or CR, but changes of hardness before and after aging were too big by adding CR. The tensile strength, the modulus at 100% and hardness decreased and elongation at break increased with the increase of content of BIIR.Compared with the properties of two kinds vulcanizates cured by peroxide DCP or DBPH, results showed that aging properties of vulcanizates using DBPH was better. Using RPA to study the dynamic properties of EPDM/POE cured by DBPH, when the DBPH was 3.5,loss factor before and after aging changes was small and the change was very small as well,heat-resisting properties was best. By orthogonal analysis, studied the influence of the amount of DBPH, TAIC, S on the properties of EPDM/POE in order to obtain the ideal formula of the corresponding properties.The corresponding properties of EPDM/POE was studied, filled with the different size and different structure carbon black. With the increasing of carbon black particle size, the change of compression permanent deformation and hardness reduced, the change of tensile strength and tensile elongation at break increased. Under the same size, with the increasing of structure degree, compression permanent deformation increased, the change of the tensile strength reduced. When silica was 20phr, the change of strength and tensile elongation at break were minimum and heat ageing properties was best.The effect of several anti-aging agent on the aging properties of EPDM/POE compounds was studied, such as N-(4-aniline phenyl)-methyl acrylamide (NAPM), acetone and diphenylamine high-temperature condensation compound (BLE), N-isopropyl-n'-phenyl para-phenylene diamine (40 10N A) three,2-methyl-1,2, 4-trichlorobenzene dihydrogen quinoline polymer (RD),2,2'-methylene double-(4-methyl-6-tertiary butyl phenol) (2246) and 2-thiol group truxene imidazole (MB). It showed that the effect of anti-aging agent on the heat oxygen aging properties of EPDM/POE from good to bad is:NAPM>BLE>4010NA>RD>2246>MB.
