Currently, high-temperature black pigments contained cobalt are commonly used. But, they also have shortcomings like cobalt resources in our country are limited, high price and the risk of heavy-metal ion releasing makes people expect a new alternative pigment which have the advantages of low cost, environmental protection and good coloration. Though carbon black has those advantages, it can be easily oxidized and decomposed under high temperature. In this research, we took homemade carbon black dispersion and carbon ink as carbon source, used zirconium silicate which has excellent high temperature stability as a protective layer to wrap carbon black, prepared ZrSiP4-C inclusion pigment. The first part of the experiment used carbon ink as carbon source to prepare ZrSiO4-C inclusion pigment. Mainly studied the effects of preparing factors to the performance of carbon black inclusion pigment, such as the amount ofsilica sol andcarbon ink, standing time of mixed slurry, and the type of carbon ink. The results showed that, when the amount of silica sol was 18g(the mole ratio of silicon and zirconium was 1.03), the amount of carbon ink was 8.2%, standing time was 24h and the type of carbon ink was "?", the L* value of the prepared inclusion pigment was lowest, which is 29.73.The second part of the experiment used feedstock as carbon source to prepare ZrSiO4-C inclusion pigment. Mainly studied the influences of preparation factors to the performance of carbon black inclusion pigment, such as the amount of feedstock, the amount of every emulsifier, the method of emulsification, pre-emulsification time, stirring time, the amount of assistant emulsifier, and the type of emulsifier. The results showed that, when the amount of feedstock was 8.3%,the amount of silica sol was 18g(the mole ratio of silicon and zirconium was 1.03), choosing TritonX-100 as emulsifier and the amount of it was 24.3%, the amount of assistant emulsifier was 11%, stirring time was 2h, we could obtain the lowest L* value of the inclusion pigment without pre-emulsification, which is 44.30.In the third part of the experiment, we mainly researched the influences of preparation factors to the performance of carbon black inclusion pigment, such as dispersing methods, dispersing time, the amount of absolute alcohol. The results showed that, when adopting agitation as dispersing method, stirring time was 4h, and the amount of absolute alcohol 20.5%, the flowability of mixed slurry was the most suitable, and the lowest L* value of the inclusion pigment we could obtain, which is 29.30.The work also used X ray diffraction (XRD)to measure the phase composition of pigment power. The surface morphology was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Also, the pigment power was characterized by unite thermal analyzer (TG-DTA) and colorimeter.
