The study of desulfurization technology for reducing the emissions of SO2 has an important significance because of the great harm of environmental pollution caused by its emission. The activated coke flue gas desulfurization technology is an advanced flue gas desulfurization technology.This technology has several excellent features, including high desulphurization efficiency,no water consumption,no waste residue,and obtaining high concentration SO2 from desorption,which could be used to produce sulfuric acid and so on.Therefore, the activated coke desulphurization technology has good development prospect in our country.The research progress of activated coke flue gas desulfurization technology at home and abroad is reviewed in this paper, and the process of SO2 adsorption on the surface of activated coke and principle of activated coke regeneration is analyzed,meanwhile,desulfurization system of activated coke fixed bed is compared with moving bed on their advantages and disadvantages, taking desulfurization system of moving bed as an example, its concentration is introduced in detail.Based on the linear adsorption isotherm equation, we adopt the approximate solution of concentration distribution to get the calculation method of breakthrough curves which can be easily applied. Taking an activated coke fixed bed, for example,both of the theoretical and actual operation time is calculated, it is found that the actual breakthrough time is far less than ideal breakthrough time, so it is necessary to calculate and analysis for choosing the appropriate breakthrough time when designing activated coke fixed bed,and according to the actual breakthrough time, the breakthrough curve and utilization rate are further calculated. Meanwhile, analysis of the effects of SO2 concentration at the entrance and flue gas flow velocity on the breakthrough curves reveals that high concentrations of SO2 as well as velocity of flue gas at the entrance will speed up the adsorption process of activated coke. These results can provide some references for the design and operation of the fixed bed of activated coke.The desorber matching with activated coke moving bed adsorption tower with200 Nm3/h flue gas is designed. Designing and calculating the heating and cooling,the heat transfer area and the tube side pressure drop are calculated, and all of the results are within the scope of the standard. These designing parameters can provide certain reference for engineering amplifying application of desorber.
