As an important part of urban water resources, urban lakes have important influence on the water environment. As a lake in Hongshan District in Wuhan, it belongs to the landscape park lake. However, the water quality of Huangjia Lake is getting worse due to the completion of the college town. The scientific assessment and numerical simulation to study the water quality can provide the scientific advices of the scientific management and sustainable utilization. The object of this paper is Huangjia Lake and the research is as follows:(1) The water quality of the lake is monitored from August 2013 to May 2014. The parameters monitored include DO, BOD5, CODMn, TP, TN,COD.(2) The single factor index evaluation model, the comprehensive pollution index of water quality model, the lake eutrophication evaluation model are applied to evaluate the water quality and the results show that water quality of Huangjia Lake has reached the inferior to Grade?and the lake eutrophication is serious.(3) Based on the Dillion model to study the pollutant carrying capacity, the pollutant carrying capacity of TP is 1.709 t/a; the pollutant carrying capacity of TN is 88.866 t/a and the pollutant carrying capacity of COD is 534.696 t/a.(4) The migration and transformation model of Huangjia Lake is based on the KapayweB model. The parameters k1 of the CODMn, TN and TP diffusion model are 1.13×10-4, 8.56×10-4, 1.08×10-4, separately.(5) Water quality simulation software(WASP) simulates the change of trend of TN, NH3-N, NO3 –-N and analysis the error between the measured values and simulated values by dividing the lake into 10 sections and inputting related parameters, such as the environmental parameters, the transformation parameters, the transmission parameters, the boundary parameters. The results show that the simulation results are in good agreement with the observed values. The model software has good applicability for the simulation of water quality of the lake.
