Laser science scholars have been pursuing the goal is to get a continuously adjustable laser light source from the infrared to the ultraviolet region. But direct access to the deep ultraviolet coherent light source is very difficult, using nonlinear optical crystal medium for laser frequency conversion can be obtained indirectly deep uv coherent light source. So the discovery may realize the deep ultraviolet output frequency doubling crystal is one of hotspots in the field of laser and material science. KBBF crystal is found in a deep ultraviolet region can achieve the shortest cut-off wavelength of the nonlinear optical crystal, the crystal is six times of the laser frequency can be realized.KBBF crystal growth method has a hydrothermal method, flux method and prism coupling technique and so on, but these methods can not overcome layer growth habit and growing difficulties KBBF crystal defects. Research can be obtained with the size of the actual application of KBBF crystal growth method is very necessary, decompression supercooled melt orientation growth method is put forward to solve these problems.On the basis of the crystal growth method, this paper chose KBBF decompression supercooled melt directional long way. Experiment using two different synthetic raw materials for the growth of KBBF, under different environment and the cooling way completed the seeds of KBBF crystal growth, and comprehensive consideration of KBBF crystal growth habit and decompression supercooled state directional growth requirements, to establish a set of KBBF growth furnace equipment and its control system.The results show that the KBF4 and BeO, B2O3 as raw materials, and mechanical pressure between two sintering, the final synthesis of KBBF high quality raw materials, to meet the growing demand. On this basis, by KBBF, KF and B2O3 as raw materials for the growth in the ceramic crucible with the method of four specific cooling growth of KBBF more ideal quality of seed crystal, crystal size can be used as the basis of KBBF crystal growth. For KBBF crystal growth furnace equipment used under high temperature and high pressure sealing device and seed crystal holder of dynamic seal device, ensure the KBBF seed crystal growth conditions, for the relief of KBBF crystal supercooled state directional growth laid the foundation equipments.
