Selective laser sintering is a kind of technology using laser to selectively sinter powdery material to produce mechanical parts, which is a relative mature technology in the rapid prototyping manufacturing technologies. Selective laser sintering can reduce the expenditure of research and development; enhance the competitiveness of new products, And it is not restricted by the part geometry shape, has high material utilization, doesn't need supporting structure, can shorten the cycle of design and manufacturing and so on. So selective laser sintering has broad development prospect in the rapid prototyping manufacturing technologies. The main contents of this thesis are outlined as follows:(1) Analyze domestic and foreign research status and the numerical simulation theory and knowledge of selective laser sintering, and provide the theoretical basis for numerical simulation and experiment of Incone1625 metal powder in selective laser sintering process.(2) Summarize the thermal process characteristic of metal powder materials by selective laser sintering:transient in heating process, centralized heat in heating area, mobility of laser heating source, change of physical properties of materials, and subsequent effects of sintering performance.(3) Use APDL (ANSYS Parametric Design Language) program to realize the loading and movement of the laser heat in which the energy is presented as Gaussian distribution, and carry out the simulation analysis for the temperature field of the selective laser sintering process.(4) Carry out the simulation analysis of stress field based on the analysis of temperature field.(5) Through the sintering experiment, indirectly validate the feasibility of simulations, analyze sintering problems and propose improvement measures, which provide guidance for the subsequent trial.This paper carried out finite element numerical simulation focusing on temperature field and stress field of the selective laser sintering process for Incone1625 metal powder, and indirectly validated the feasibility of simulations by the sintering experiment.
