Using industrial techniques of irradiation vulcanization of rubber latex,preparation of pure silica slurry,slurry blending and spray drying,in this paper,we have successfully fabricated the ultrafine full-vulcanized carboxylated styrene butadiene rubber?UFPCSBR?/Si02 nanocompound powder.The UFPCSBR particles which have gradient crossingling structure and silica particles are isolated and adhered to each other.We blended UFPCSBR/SiO2 nanocompound powder and SBR etc raw rubber,prepared rubber/UFPCSBR/SiO2 ternary rubber nano-composites.We have studied the dispersion of the UFPCSBR/SiO2 compound powder in the rubber matrix and the influence of it on the properties of the rubber nano-composites.The experimental results showed that the hydrophilic silica dispersed well in the SBR/NR,SBR/BR matrixes in the process of UFPCSBR/SiO2 compound powder and raw rubber blending.This is because that having been irradiated by ? ray and electron beam,the rubber particles in carboxylated styrene butadiene latex had high crosslinking degree on the surface and moderate crosslinking degree in the inner parts,which have good mobility after spray drying.The UFPCSBR particles which possess good compatibility with SBR can disperse well in the rubber matrix when they were blending with rubber,so that the SiO2 particles which are isolated and adhered with the UFPCSBR particles can disperse well in rubber matrix,and prepare the rubber/UFPCSBR/SiO2 nanocomposites which the UFPCSBR particles and the SiO2 particles can disperse well in them.Noteworthily,different from the rubber/UFPCSBR/SiO2 ternary composites prepared with adding the UFPCSBR powdrt and SiO2 powder respectively,there is a side peak on the tand-T curve of the rubber/UFPCSBR/SiO2 ternary composites by adding the UFPCSBR/SiO2 compound powder in the temperature range of 20 tO 40?.The appearance of side peak will provide a new approach for the development of green tyre tread.In addition,the novel rubber/UFPCSBR/SiO2 ternary nanocomposites prepared using the UFPCSBR/SiO2 compound powder has higher tensile strength,lower heat built-up and good abrasion resistance.
