Water chamber head is an important part for AP1000 nuclear ssland nuclear power plant steam generator, in view of the requirements of the steam generator is running, choosing difficult materials 508â…¢ steel as the processing materials for water chamber head, but because of the high strength, good low temperature impact toughness and ductility transition temperature of 508â…¢ steel and the adjunction of pro ferroic chemical elements iron, resulting in high cutting temperatures during processing, which impact the workpiece surface quality and tool life, and then reduce processing efficiency. We conduct 508â…¢ milling temperature experiment research and simulation analysis to the above problem.First, establish cutting temperature analytical model for 508â…¢ steel milling process. Milling insert flank transient cutting temperature model is bulit to analyze the influence of cutting time and cutting speed on the milling temperature and optimize tooling technology. Moving heat source method and reverse method are synthetically integrated to solve workpiece temperature distribution model in the milling process that provide a theoretical basis for the workpiece temperature calculation. In the basis of dimensional analysis, establish heat flux density function and temperature model of milling insert rake tool-chip contact areas and analysis it using C++ programming, which provide boundary conditions for finite element simulation of milling insert.Secondly, conduct 508â…¢ steel milling temperature test. We use semi-artificial thermocouple wire clamp method for milling temperature experiment by preparing the homemade welding device and thermocouple amplifier, get milling temperature and its practical formula under different milling parameters, which could verify the correctness of analytical model and provide the basis for preferably cutting parameters. It provides new ideas for the milling temperature study by analysising chip temperature variation and oxygen content under different cutting parameters in the chips.Furthermore, simulation analysis of 508 â…¢ steel milling process and tool. Study the temperature ternd during the milling by the milling process simulation machining. The simulation results and experimental results are compared and verified to verify the reliability of temperature measurement system. The distribution of cutting temperature and heat stress as well as deformation are analyzed in the milling temperature analysis model for the boundary conditions. The study provides an effective way for the research of difficult material 508 â…¢ steel milling temperatures.Finally, study on the 508 â…¢ steel milling tool wear. Establish carbide tool wear model based on the temperature effect, in order to improve 508 â…¢ steel milling tool life in the high temperature. By cutting tool wear test, research the influence of flank wear value and milling temperature under different speed during milling process. Analysis of the water chamber head milling cutter site failure mode by combining theory and practice, which provides a basis for improving tool life.
