In this paper,we choose the copper and nickel ore from the area of Shui Yuan in Yun Nan province as object of research.There the crude ore is always characterized by the complex association relationship and the small disseminated grain size.The ore is partially oxidized and grade of nickel and copper is low. We planned and conducted an experiment on these ore samples from that area to test their washability and to produce copper and nickel concentrate with proper selection technology and agent system.On the basis of analysis and identification of crude minerals,it can be determined that the major output form of these ore is sulfide of copper and nickel with the ingredients of violarite,nickel pyrite,chalcopyrite and major gangue minerals of amphibole,quartz,steatite,chlorite and serpentine.We choose the technology for hybrid floation method as subject of discussion for the similar floatability of copper and nickel mineral.At first,we determined the condition for floation through the grinding and floation condition experiments on ore samples.Then with the procedure of two steps of crude selection,two steps of refined selection and two steps of scavenging selection,we can produce blended concentrate of copper and nickel with the respective grade of 4.78% and 3.05% by the open and closed circuit tests results.The blended concentrate should be furtherly grinded and processed with chemical agent of effective inhibition on nickel ingredient,finally the idealistic result can be achieved that copper and nickel concentrate are separated from blended material with the respective grade of 20.77% and 3.82%,recovery of 80.22% and 76.98%.In this paper,we discussed the selection method of hybrid floation-regrinding blended concentrate-separation of copper and nickel concentrate.With the procedure offered above,we can produce the relatively homogeneous material and facilitate metallurgical technology for metal copper and nickel.The emission of hazardous material into environments during metallurgical procedure can also be reduced as much as possible and aforementioned discussions are helpful to dressing of nickel and copper ore.
