The 1103 working face of China Pingshuo NO.2 subterranean coal mine is the first working face of 11# coal seam, and from the mining conditions and technology, it is called the first fully mechanized working face of large height under the fully mechanized caving gob of close distance under coal seams. The close distance under coal seams is that the average space between the 11# coal seam which is going to be mined and the 9# coal seam which will be finished is 4.7m. The 9# coal seam is the upper seam and mined with fully mechanized caving mining method. The 11# coal seam is the under seam, the 1103 first working face is under the gob of the 9# coal seam and it is planned to mined with the large height and full-seam mining fully mechanized mining method.To the 1103 first working face, this paper study the first weighting regularity with field research, determination of coal rock physical mechanics parameter in lab, numerical simulation, similar material simulation test, field mining pressure monitoring and theoretical analysis. According to field research, obtain the geological data and the roof and floor rock specimen and test the physical mechanics index in lab by multiple instruments and methods. Using FLAC to simulate and analyze the first weighting regularity in the initial stage, and determine the station and strength of weighting. According to similar material simulation test to simulate the mining station of working face, realize the caving and deformation station of the upper rock seam and analyze the caving span and weighting strength in the initial stage. At last, according to field mining pressure monitoring to determine the weighting span, monitor the nicking and puking of working face during weighting stage, compute the roof-to-floor convergence and analyze the weighting mechanism of upper roof. The research result is significant to this mine, it not only assure the high yield and high efficiency of this mine, but also provide important reference to other mines who has the similar geological conditions.
