With the people's increasing substances requirement and awareness of environmental protection, natural gas as a clean and green energy, there is a rapid increase in nature gas demand. In recent years, long-distance gas pipeline has developed rapidly, how to ensure its safety operation becomes the focus of people's particular concern. In this dissertation, long-distance pipelines as the research object is studied, quantitative risk calculation methods for the consequences of the accident which are caused by longdistance gas pipelines leakage are studied, and the safety protection distance are decided.Firstly, the pipeline gas leakage diffusion and effect analyses of related research at home and abroad are introduced; secondly, the failure modes, causes and consequences of the longdistance gas pipeline are analyzed. The consequences include hydrogen sulfide gas poisoning, shock wave generated by vapor cloud explosion and thermal radiation from jet fire and fireball. Gaussian model and accident consequence calculation models are used to calculate death radius for long-transmission pipelines gas leakage under different operation pressures for three kinds different hole leakage modes in order to determine the long-distance pipeline safety protection distance; therefore, the quantitative risk analysis methods for the accident consequences of long-distance gas pipelines are summarized systematically by choosing personal risk and social risk as evaluation indexes. Finally, a long-distance pipeline is selected as an example.
