In this paper, we choose the copper tailings in Guizhou Province as object of research, the copper, gold of valuable metals is rich in copper tailings of the area, Tailings are complicated and the small disseminated grain size. We planned and conducted an experiment on these ore samples from that area to test their washability and to produce copper concentrate with proper selection technology and agent system. On the basis of analysis and identification of crude minerals, copper is mainly in the form of copper sulfide, gold mainly exists in the formation of bare gold, the tailings contains 0.31% copper,0.46g/t gold; it can be determined that gangue minerals of amphibole, quartz, hornblende, calcite, garnet, diopside and chlorite. Chalcopyrite, closely associated with pyrite, pyrrhotite, exists in fine or micro-fine form, some of which are too fine to be liberated.Based on the property of the copper tailings, Several essential tests, containing grinding fineness, collector type and dosage, activator test, pH adjusting agent test, frother type and dosage, the amount of lime, was conducted to determine their influence on floatation efficiency, the flowsheet of "Cu-Au-S bulk flotation, bulk concentrate regrinding, Cu-S separation" was recommended. Research has shown that, at the grinding fineness of 80% passing 0.074 mm, through the processes of one roughing-two cleanings-two scavengings, bulk concentrate regrounded to 82.14% passing 0.038 mm and cu-s separation then through three cleanings-one scavengings, and middlings back to the flow-sheet in order, we have achieved that copper-bearing gold concentrate contains 14.59% copper with 56.01% copper recovery and 19.29g/t gold with 51.01% gold recovery respectively, while the sulfide concentrate ontains 39.74% sulfide with 60.77% sulfide recovery' and 0.74g/t gold with 20.21% gold recovery respectively. For.comprehensive utilization of tailings is used for reference.
