Metal–organic frameworks(MOFs), as an emerging class of porous hybrid materials, exhibit promising applications for adsorption/separation, sensing and catalysis. In this thesis, sixteen compounds based on open-chain ether-bridged carboxyl ligands, carbazole-bridged carboxyl ligands and fluorine-bridged pyrimidinyl ligands were obtained. Their single crystal structures were fully characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The physical and chemical properties of some compounds were also investigated.I. The self-assembly coordination chemistry based on open-chain ether-bridged carboxyl ligands(L1-L4) with metal ions was investigated and five novel coordination compounds were obtained. Their single crystal structures were fully characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. A discrete molecular cage with Cu(II) as the metal site was synthesized.II. The self-assembly coordination chemistry based on carbazole-bridged carboxyl ligands(L5-L8) with metal ions(M=Mg(II), Cd(II), Ni(II)) was investigated and four novel coordination compounds were obtained. Their single crystal structures were fully characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Owing to its good stability, the 3D Cd(II)-MOF can adsorb iodine in a SC-SC fashion.III. Three morphologies micron-crystallization of Cd(II)-MOF were synthesized in different conditions. Two composite materials named amorphous Fe2O3@Cd-MOF and Fe3O4@Cd-MOF were obtained by vapor deposition of Fe(CO)5. Their catalytic efficiency of degradation reaction of rhodamine B were studied. Cd S quantum dots @Cd-MOF compound was synthesized by one pot assembly. The catalytic efficiency of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution experiment was discussed briefly.IV. Seven novel coordination compounds based on fluorene-bridged pyrimidinyl ligands(L9-L13) with metal ions were obtained.Their single crystal structures were investigated. The study indicates that the structures of coordination compounds can influenced by several factors, such as the substituent of ligand,anion.
