Polyoxymethelene(POM) is widely used as an important engineering plastic due to its good mechanical properties. The manufacturing process of POM has the characteristics of complicated and long production process, high energy consumption etc. POM is easy to form big spherical crystals. For its regular chain structure, POM and downstream products are easy to crack, no bending resistance and low elongation. All these disadvantages have a bad impact on the scope of application of the product and service life. Ordinary POM has been unable to meet these specific requirements. In the fierce market competition, we need to find a solution in two aspects : To improve the quality of POM product and reduce consumption in the production process and improve product performance.In this paper, through the analysis and research on the production characteristics of POM production process, we put forward the improvement scheme to improve the process quality of POM. For formaldehyde preparation process, we finished the goal of extending the service life of the catalyst and improved the quality of products, reduced the consumption of methanol through researching the selection of catalyst, reaction time, process control. The concentration efficiency and stability of the formaldehyde enrichment system were improved by the modification of the formaldehyde concentration system and the cleaning system. We constantly optimized the process parameters, TOX products quality has reached the domestic advanced level; in order to solve the problem of highly energy consumption in the production process, this paper introduce the advanced control system of POM production process, this research focus on the processes which consume a large amount of energy, to achieve a fine process control, improve the utilization rate of energy; we have done a lot of research and experiment on POM modified products, test and analysis tensible strength, elongation, bending strength, bending modulus and notched impact strength of different modified products. Experimental results showed that the production of modified POM in mechanical properties, chemical properties, mechanical properties had the same quality with the imported products, reached the expected requirements of the experiment, this is good at optimization of our company product structure, and laid a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the enterprise.
