Vanadium is widely used in the steel industry, nonferrous metals, chemicals as an indispensable element. China has proved the total reserves of vanadium (V2O5) in stone coal vanadium ore exceeds one hundred million tons, whereas the ore is frequently with other metal elements. Therefore, the comprehensive utilization of the stone coal vanadium ore resource has an important strategic significance. This paper researched the comprehensive utilization technology for the stone coal vanadium ore somewhere. Moreover, the appropriate process for vanadium extraction was developed, and other useful elements such as gold was comprehensive recycled.The main recovery elements of the stone coal vanadium ore were vanadium, gold, and other elements had low content. Vanadium mainly occurred in the form of clay minerals and roscoelites. Gold, silver mainly occurred in the pyrites.Firstly, the probe tests of the various leaching technology was explored according to the characteristics of the stone coal vanadium ore minerals, and the direct acid leaching process was determined. The parameters of the direct acid leaching process was obtained by orthogonal tests, conditions tests and optimize tests. The leaching rate of V2O5 was 86.81%, and gold entered the leaching residue. Afterwards, the treated vanadium leaching liquid was extracted by P204+TBP+solvent oil extraction system, and the reverse extraction process was proceed by sulfuric acid solution. The obtained vanadium enriched liquid generated the V2O5 products by vanadium precipitation and calcining processes.In order to recover the gold in the raw ore, the cyanidation leaching gold and the non-cyanidation leaching gold tests were proceed for the acid slags. The cyanidation leaching rate of gold was 84.26%. The neutralization products generated the aluminum ammonium sulfate by the recrystallization treatment.The final adoption process was determined above the aforementioned exploring and experiments: ore-broken-countercurrent acid leaching-neutralization and reduction-extraction and reverse extraction-vanadium precipitation-calcination-V2O5 products; gold leaching by cyaniding of acid leaching residue; ammonium aluminum sulfate prepared by neutralization products. The overall recovery of vanadium in the process was 84.00%, and the quality of the obtained V2O5 products had reached YB/T5304-2011 grade V2O5 99 class standards. The gold was cyanide leached from acid leaching residue, and the leaching rate of gold was 84.26%. The aluminum ammonium sulfate was crystallized by neutralization products. Aluminum ammonium sulfate was obtained 150 kg from per ton raw materials, and the quality of the products met the GB25592-2010 standards.The extraction agent gradually lost its original function because of the multiple extraction processes. The regeneration and transformation experiments were employed to treat the extraction agent. The extraction effects of the treated extraction agent was in accordance with the fresh extraction agent. The raffinate obtained from the extraction process by vanadium leaching liquid was treated, and the obtained water was clear. Cd, As, Pb etc. in the water was below the national GB26452-2011 emission standards. The most treated solution returned the flow path.
