A process technology with independent intellectual property developed by J Design Engineering Company was chosed to build the new plant of acrylic acid and butyl acrylate,pipeline and process scheme of the plant was illustrated briefly in this paper.During this process, propylene was oxidized into acrylic aldehyde and then oxidized further into acrylic acid, butyl acrylate usually obtained through continuous esterificaition of butyl alcohol and esterification grade acrylic on the function of catalyst.The process of J Engineering Design Company was optimized in order to meet the increa singly stringent environmental requirements. The diacetate purification columns were used fo r purification and recycling. Software PRO II was used for simulating of the process of newly added acetic acid purification column. The simulation results showed that the processing capa bility and the absorption rate of acetic acid of the column were 324 kg/h and 33.4%, respectiv ely. The optimized process, which can meet the requirements of the technical parameters, can make the product quality of acrylic acid to be guaranteed.The ratio of acid catalyst in esterification reaction was the key factors influencing the reaction conversion and selectivity. The researchers of J Design Engineering Company did series contrast tests, and adopt a composite acid with p-toluenesulfonic acid as a main component as catalyst. It overcame the drawback of inorganic acid catalyst with a high corrosion and improve the conversion and selectivity of the reaction.Under this condition, the reaction residence time was shortened to 3-4h.The design of pipeline is closely related to piping stress analysis and pipe supports,it can effectively solve the problems of pipeline layout,pressure drop,piping flexibility,pipeline vibration,and provides the basis for optimization of pipeline design.For the entire project,effective stress analysis can reduce security risks in device and ensure the safety and stable operation of the device.In this paper, the acrylic acid and esters technology program was fully explained through the fully comparison in the following different aspects:the feasibility of the process, the 'Three wastes'treatment and the characteristics of the pipe. In a sense, it showed the product qualified rate of this project was higher than other devices.
