ZhaZi coal mine shaft has stop mining years ago, because the resource depletion of coal, upstream authorities ratify some small coal mines around the shaft industrial square protective coal pillars and they can mining residual coal and coal pillars. TongHua Mining Bureau prepare for expansion for reproduction and mining maximal coal resources. There is a plan to mining protective coal pillars of using filling method. It is difficulty to definition whether the shaft industrial square protective coal pillars has been mining and the destructiveness, as the mining is not standard of small coalmines. These uncertainties make it difficult to mining protective coal pillars.To ensure the work of mining protective coal pillars, we will use EH-4 electromagnetic imaging system and arrangement eight of measuring-lines along the boundary of protective coal pillars. We ascertain the failure zone of industrial square protective coal pillars, complete the roadway layout of protective coal pillars first mining area and design the cross-section shape and the supporting scheme of coal face.
