Rock burst is a complex dynamic phenomenon, which is one of the rock mechanics and mine disaster prevention research difficulties. In recent years, with the increasing depth in coal mining, the numbers of the the rock burst mines increase significantly, which cause great potential risks to the mine production and the safety of staff. Therefore, it is necessary to study further about the prevention of the rock burst.This paper takes the rock burst accident of 15-1 fully-mechanized face as study background, understands the process of roof rock burst by collecting the data including roadway layout, face operation regulations and geological data of Shulan NO.4 mine. The type of the bursting is determined by analyzing the characteristics of the accident and find out the reason of the bursting accident through the mining technology of the working face, lithology of the roof and geological structure. The anti-bursting scheme of 16-1 working face is designed, and technical parameters are defined by theoretical calculation and numerical simulation to prevent the roof bursting of 16-1 working face, so that the working face is mined safety.
